Each patient is carefully monitored during treatment to make sure that there is no risk of the patient developing any side effects. Radiation therapy uses radiation to destroy cancer cells, while reducing the size of those that remain.
The CCRT is responsible for completing one of the most comprehensive studies ever undertaken to determine the effect of radiation therapy on the development of skin cancer. The study involved more than three thousand cancer patients who underwent treatment using radiation therapy and resulted in finding that those patients who were treated with the most powerful doses of radiation developed less skin cancer than those who received lower doses.
The Prostate Cancer Program at Los Alamitos is focused primarily on the treatment of prostate cancer, though some patients also undergo treatment for breast cancer. Treatment at the Los Alamitos Cancer Center is conducted under the supervision of one of the world's most experienced surgeons, to ensure that every single case is handled with care and precision.
The California Breast Cancer Treatment Program is another unique form of cancer treatment in the state of California. This center specializes in the treatment of breast cancer; and all women in the state who suffer from this disease are encouraged to see their doctor as soon as possible.
Los Alamitos Cancer Center also takes an active role in creating awareness about the importance of early detection, and the importance of routinely reviewing your health. This is done by putting together a series of educational presentations designed to educate and inform the public about skin cancer.
These presentations provide clear and easy to understand information on the use of ultraviolet (UV) light in the prevention and treatment of skin cancer. You can learn the proper way to apply these UV lamps, as well as how to use them to kill the cancer cells that would otherwise cause you so much pain and suffering.
